- Flower Care & Pickup Tips -

Pickup Timing
We always recommend picking up your flowers the day of your wedding for the freshest blooms.
If needed, you can pick up your order the day before—just be sure to:

  • 1. Keep flowers in a cool, shaded area (away from direct sunlight or heat).

  • 2. Refresh the water daily for arrangements and bouquets.

  • 3. Avoid using a regular fridge—only use floral-safe coolers kept around 40°F (household fridges are too cold and can damage blooms).

Need to adjust your pickup time?
No problem! Give us a call—we’re happy to accommodate.

Packaging
Every item comes neatly packaged and ready to go:

  • -Bouquets wrapped and hydrated
  • -Arrangements secured in water-filled vases
  • -Boutonnieres and corsages labeled and boxed
  • -Arches, greenery bundles, and cake florals prepped and easy to identify

Transportation

Transporting wedding flowers safely is key to keeping them beautiful!
We recommend giving us a call before pickup so we can help you choose the best vehicle size for your order. The amount of space you’ll need depends on the number and size of arrangements.
A few quick guidelines:

  • -Small weddings: SUVs or crossovers with a flat cargo area work perfectly.

  • -Medium to large weddings: Vans or vehicles with foldable seats are best.

  • -Avoid open beds or hot trunks—keep flowers shaded and air-conditioned if possible.
We’ll walk you through exactly what you’ll need based on your floral order to ensure everything arrives safely and securely.

- Step by step "How To's" -

How to Pin on a Boutonniere

You’ll Need:

  • The boutonniere
  • 1–2 pins (included with your order)
  • A mirror (optional but helpful!)

Steps:

  1. Have the person wearing the boutonniere stand straight.
  2. Position the boutonniere on the left lapel, above the heart. The bloom should rest roughly where the lapel dips.
  3. Hold the boutonniere in place and insert the pin from behind the lapel, pushing through the stem at a slight upward angle, then back into the fabric.
  4. Use a second pin for extra security, especially if the boutonniere is large or the event will last several hours.
  5. Adjust so the flowers face slightly outward and upright—then you’re ready for photos!

Pro Tip: Keep an extra boutonniere or two in water until just before the ceremony, in case of heat or wear.

How to Install an Arch Piece

You’ll Need:

  • 2 people (one to hold, one to secure)
  • The floral arch piece
  • 2 extra-large zip ties (included with your order)
  • Scissors or snips for trimming ties

Steps:

  1. Have one person hold the floral piece against the arch where you’d like it placed.
  2. Using the provided zip ties, secure the piece around the arch structure.
  3. Tighten the ties until snug but avoid crushing the stems or blooms.
  4. Trim off any extra plastic from the zip ties.
  5. Step back and adjust the angle or fullness as needed.

Pro Tip: For a balanced look, place one large piece off-center and a smaller piece on the opposite side or lower corner.

Setting Centerpieces on Tables

Before You Start:

  • Wipe tables clean and cover them with linens if using.
  • Have a bucket or pitcher of clean water nearby to top off arrangements if needed.

Tips:

  • Place larger centerpieces in the middle of round tables or in a gentle staggered pattern down rectangular ones.
  • If your arrangements are low and lush, no need to remove them from the vase—they’re ready to go!
  • For candles, make sure flames are at least 3–4 inches away from any blooms or greenery.
  • Mix in loose greenery or blooms between centerpieces for a soft, garden-style flow.

Pro Tip: Snap a quick photo once a few tables are set to check for balance and consistency across the room.

Styling Loose Greenery & Blooms

Loose greenery and extra blooms can make your space feel full, organic, and cohesive. Here are some ideas for where to use them:

Table Decor:

  • Layer greenery runners down long tables
  • Tuck single stems near candles or name cards
  • Use sprigs to frame serving stations or drink tables

Around the Venue:

  • Accent welcome signs, seating charts, or gift tables
  • Add greenery around lanterns, centerpieces, or photo frames
  • Place a few stems near the cake table, guestbook, or bar area

Pro Tip: Keep a small pair of scissors handy to trim stems as you go for a polished look.

Adding Flowers to Your Cake

You’ll Need:

  • Cake flowers (labeled and prepped by Piney Rose)
  • Small scissors
  • Food-safe floral tape or barrier (optional)

Steps:

  1. Start with clean, dry flowers—remove any leaves or thorns.
  2. Trim stems short, about 2–3 inches.
  3. Insert stems gently into the cake if using sturdy flowers, or use floral picks if stems are delicate.
  4. Arrange flowers in clusters—try one main focal point on the side or top tier and smaller accents cascading down.
  5. Step back and make sure your placement feels balanced from all angles.

Pro Tip: Keep the cake flowers refrigerated (floral-safe cooler only!) until about one hour before display.

Using Greenery Bundles

Our greenery bundles are super versatile! Use them to add texture and volume around your venue:

  • Wrap around signs, railings, or entryways
  • Frame the base of an arch or ceremony structure
  • Tuck along banisters, fireplace mantels, or bar tops
  • Use short pieces to enhance guest tables, cocktail tables, or cake displays

Each bundle can be cut into smaller segments or kept whole for a lush garland effect.

Pro Tip: Mist the greenery lightly with water to keep it fresh throughout the event.
